The International Orienteering Federation’s conference, the High-Level Event Seminar (HLES), took place in Budapest this year between February 3rd and 4th. At the event, the organizers of the 2024 EOC also held a meeting with the CEO of IOF and the race’s IOF senior advisor.
The seminar, started 15 years ago, aims to make transferring knowledge to future organizers of high-level orienteering events, such as World Cups, easier. The responsibility to hold this event from year to year lies with the IOF Foot Orienteering Commission. 72 participants registered from 18 National Federations, seasoned organizers and newcomers alike.
The EOC 2024 team took the opportunity to hold a meeting at the seminar about the race with the participation of Henrik Eliasson, the CEO of IOF; Jerzy Antonowicz, Senior Event Adviser; Ádám Lengyel, Event Director; Klement Kelén, TV Coordinator; Viktor Morandini, Technical Director; and Miháczi Zoltán and Péter Molnár, National Controllers. The current state of preparations, as well as the tasks of the upcoming months, were discussed.
